Advertising Icons & State Farm Car Insurance Quotes

Share

In The Patriot-News article “Car insurance: How can I tell where to get the cheapest rates?,” Liam Migdail-Smith discusses some of the most popular car insurance spokespersons and what deals their companies actually offer.  Geico uses characters like their Gecko and Caveman to advertise themselves as having low rates and saving you lots of money.  Whether or not you’ll save money and pay less for your premium really depends on a number of factors, so shopping around is still crucial.

Companies like Esurance advertise the benefit of shopping online to get your insurance quotes.  You can also shop with an agent if you prefer, but many people like to get their quotes and even purchase insurance online now.  While many large car insurance companies offer the ability to shop online and get rate quotes, with some companies you still have to speak with an agent before making your purchase.  Choosing the price you are willing to pay is a new campaign advertised by Progressive Insurance Company’s well-known spokeswoman Flo.  You are able to name your own price, and then pick the coverage options you can afford within that price.  While this new way of pricing may appeal to some consumers, it won’t necessarily save you money.

While it is obvious that you will pay more money for more coverage, Allstate spokesmen Dennis Haysbert and “Mayhem” remind you that getting quality coverage should be more important than getting the cheapest coverage.  State Farm advertises it’s “good neighbor” mentality by showing insurance agents at your side whenever you need them.  They say that getting State Farm car insurance quotes will pair you up with top notch customer service, something they believe is most important.  Other perks exist like Nationwide’s vanishing deductible, but keep in mind that they usually require loyalty to the insurer over a period of time.

AL Politician Proposes New Car Insurance Law

There are thousands of people who drive their cars on the road without them being insured with car insurance. These drivers pose a physical and financial threat to the other motorists that are driving on the road. In an accident, many uninsured motorists flee the accidents scene if they can. They do not want to get into trouble or be held liable for damages especially if their negligence caused the car accident to begin with.

Now, a politician from the state of Alabama is trying to do something about uninsured drivers in his state. The man is named Arthur Orr and he is a republican who represents Decatur.

Points Can Affect State Farm Auto Quote

Share

Drivers in New York are banned from using hand-held cell phones while driving, and this week they will be getting an extra penalty if caught doing so.  Since the statewide ban of using cell phones while driving in New York was enacted, the penalty has been a fine of up to $100.  The Online Auto Insurance News article “Strengthening of NY Distracted Driving Law Has Car Insurance Implications” by John Pirro states that drivers will now receive two points on their drivers license in addition to the fine.

When drivers get a State Farm auto quote or price another car insurance company, having extra points on their license will likely make their premiums increase.  Insurance companies price their policies based on the risk that drivers carry and they use driving records to determine an individual’s risk.  Extra points, whether from talking on your cell phone, speeding, or a DUI, mean extra risk to your car insurance company.

You may think it is harsh that car insurance companies would increase premiums based on two points from a cell phone violation, but New York’s DMV found that 20% of car accidents were caused by drivers being distracted.  While not all of them were on their cell phones, it is likely that some of them were.  Since New York was the first state to implement this ban in 2001, more than 300,000 tickets have been issued yearly for talking or texting while driving.  Since insurers look at dozens of factors when determining rates, whether a violation will up your premiums or not really depends on more than the added points.

Old Caravan Insurance Explained

Insurance for caravans is a legal requirement if it’s to be on public roads, but it also makes sound financial sense. They can be incredibly expensive vehicles, and even if you’ve got an older model you could easily find the cost of replacing it too much to think about. That’s where old caravan insurance comes in, and if you look around you’ll have no problem finding an appropriate policy.

It’s fair to say that, if a caravan is more than three years old, it’s in the “old” category. But your vehicle could have seen many more years than that and still be going strong, and the good thing about its age is that it should be cheaper to insure. An older carava

Infinity Auto Insurance Sees Change in Wisconsin

Share

Drivers in Wisconsin may start paying even less for their car insurance premiums, even though studies have shown that they already pay the fourth least in United States.  According to “Car Insurance levels could drop in Wisconsin” by Cameron Clark of Fox11 WLUK-TV, a bill was passed by the state Senate on Tuesday.  Back in 2009, a bill was enacted requiring Wisconsin drivers to increase their insurance coverage from companies like Infinity auto insurance.  The Senate was led by Democrats who backed this increase in liability coverage, but now that Republicans are in charge they are looking to repeal that bill.

Wisconsin residents currently have to carry $50,000 per person and $100,000 per accident in liability coverage.  From 1982 to 2010, they were required to carry $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident and those are the levels that the repeal would return requirements to.  Finding cheap car insurance should now be easier for those residents who are struggling financially, but still want to meet the minimum car insurance requirements set by the law.  Most drivers would save money on their premiums if this law is repealed.

A State Farm Insurance rep confirmed that most people asking for a State Farm auto quote saw a rate increase because of this increased liability coverage.  She says that drivers will have more options for their car insurance and lower premiums overall if the bill is repealed.  Supporters of the higher liability coverage worry that drivers may lose out in the case of an accident.  They think that these lower amounts of liability coverage will not pay for all of the damage or medical costs associated with an accident in many cases.  The vote heads to the State Assembly later on this month.
