Short Term Car Insurance

Most insurers offer policies with coverage periods of six months, and in some states, 12 months. While these terms meet the needs of most policyholders, some drivers either require coverage for relatively short periods of time or cannot afford to pay for 6-12 months of coverage at once. In such situations, temporary car insurance can offer a solution. Depending on the issuing carrier and the policyholder’s coverage needs, a short term car insurance policy may have a term of anywhere from one day to several months. NAR urges reauthorization of National Flood Insurance Program

With Hurricane Irene bringing severe storms and heavy rains to various parts of the country in recent days, flooding to homes and businesses is on the minds of many homeowners and business owners alike.

Flooding and, more importantly, flood insurance has been on the minds of those at the National Association of Realtors (NAR), as well. Specifically, the NAR is calling for the reauthorization of National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

A typical home insurance policy does not cover flood damages that come as a result of storms. Instead, a separate flood insurance policy must be purchased to provide protection.

What is a Proof of Loss and Are You Required to Submit One?

Homeowners policies usually require policyholders to provide information supporting their claims and the amount of the loss, upon the insurer’s request.
